Taking EVs from Niche to Mainstream
Challenge: People are hesitant about driving electrified vehicles due to fears about driving range, fueling stations, and reliability. And since early adopters driven by environmental concerns have already embraced electrified vehicles, latecomers to the EV market don’t connect as strongly with that messaging. Bonus Challenge: Position Honda as an EV leader and innovator among automakers.
Solution: Create a user-friendly and educational page for the Honda website that covers everything from the available technologies to Honda’s historic role in developing them. Our research showed that what people really care about is spending less money on gas and driving a good-looking car, so we focused on the style and convenience of Honda electrified vehicles.
Electrified Vehicles Are for Everyone
Because the page would focus more on education than on selling cars, we wanted it to stand out from the rest of the website. So we introduced a bright new illustrative style featuring scenes inspired by the many landscapes of the United States to reinforce the driving idea of the project, which is that electrified vehicles are for everyone. I spearheaded this concept and worked closely with the illustrator who brought it to life.
It’s Easy to Find the One for You
I created a quiz that guides users through questions about where they live, their driving habits, vehicle preferences, and more to pair them with an electrified Honda that fits seamlessly into their lives.
In the end, this project distilled a complicated topic into information that’s easy to understand, and gave Honda a place to showcase its extraordinary strides in innovation.
