Taking EVs from Niche to Mainstream
Challenge: Entice late EV adopters through the purchase funnel and position Honda as a leading EV innovator.
Insights: Our research showed EV latecomers are waylaid by concerns about range, fueling station availability and vehicle reliability, and what they really want is to spend less on gas and to drive a good-looking car. Seems about right to me.
Solution: Create a user-friendly educational page about available technologies, Honda’s historic role in developing them and the style and convenience of Honda’s electrified lineup.
Electrified vehicles are for everyone.
Our all-are-welcome concept highlighted the versatility of Honda’s EV offerings. We introduced a bright new illustrative style depicting scenes from across the U.S., and I worked closely with the illustrator to bring the vision to life. Fuel Cell Vehicles cruised through big cities, PHEVs spanned suburbs and hybrids crossed the prettiest vistas we could dream up.
Finding “the one” made simple.
I created a simple quiz that pairs users with a Honda electrified vehicle that would fit seamlessly into their lives. Questions gauged location, lifestyle and vehicle preferences to determine the best fits.
In the end, this project distilled a complicated topic into information that’s easy to understand, and gave Honda a place to showcase its extraordinary strides in innovation.
